Tønsberg Boatrace was a thrilling event for Strømøy Racing. Tobias Munthe-Kaas was blistering fast in his F2 and secured his fist career Pole in the F2 World Championship. Unfortunately the hero of the qualifying ended his race after 20-something laps with a barrel roll in front of thousands of spectators in the beautiful harbor of Tønsberg.
Tobias was fast already in the free practice a had the fastest time after all 24 drivers had completed their 90 minutes of free practice. The qualifying session was postphoned due to heavy rain, but the organizer managed to get Q1 and Q2 under way before the sun set. Tobias set 4th best time in Q2, but in Q3 Sunday morning he was unbeatable and secured his first Pole position in the F2 World Championship. - It's unreal. Someone has to pinch my arm, said a smiling Tobias when he realized he was the fastest in qualifying.
After a confusing start of the race with Edin jumping the gun, Tobias fell behind. In a desperate attempt to climb positions, he barrel rolled and had to taste the salt water of Tønsberg. Tobias exited the boat unharmed, but was obviosly disappointed. The race was won by Pierre Lundin from Sweden and thousands of spectators witnessed an exciting race on the tight circuit.

Joakim Halvorsen secured the team's second Pole Position in F4 Saturday morning. In the first heat he lead from start to finish and drove like a champion. After a good start of the second heat, his engine stopped and he had to go back in the pit. Joakim was back on track in the third heat and finished second overall.
Live Guldbrandsen in GT30 had a disappointing qualifying, but climbed some positions and fought hard. Unfortunately she had some trouble with the foot pedal that forced her to withdraw from heat 2.
Marius Strand finished in 8th position in GT15. The Swedish drivers were fast, but Marius was 3rd of the Norwegians and secured important points in the Norwegian Cup.

Our F1 2seater was in action on Friday and around 20 people got to test the G-forces and speed of a formula boat. Needless to say, they were all smiling and we actually had people queing up on a waitinglist. Unfortunately we were not able to take them all onboard, but there will be a new opportunity in Drammen 25-26th of August.
On Saturday our Primeminister Erna Solberg visited Tønsberg Boatrace. Our F1 Driver Marit Strømøy was in the welcoming committee together with the organizer, Major of Tønsberg, UIM President and the President of the Norwegian Motorsport Federation. Erna Solberg greeted the Norwegian F2 drivers and made a stop by our merchandize shop where our F1 boat was on display.
